Rehabilitation project of the of the Church Notre Dame des Anges de Collioure and its bell Tower (Update June 30 2022)

The rehabilitation project of the Notre Dame des Anges de Collioure Church and it’s bell tower has been ongoing since January 2022. The work started with the installation of scaffold which required 6 weeks of work due to the structure of the bell tower and it’s position beside the sea.

In summary, the scope of work is as follows:

1 | Complete restoration, interior and exterior of the bell tower

External works: Restoration of the bell tower, facade of the passage and of the so-called municipal council hall and the southern facade above the chapels.

Interior works: Restoration of the passage of the bell tower, the Municipal. Council room and its vestibule, coverings of the bell tower, municipal council room, joinery, locksmithing, paintings, electricity, campanary and lightning rod.

2 | General overhaul of the Church

Verification of the exterior pipes, treatment of the North East and West walls and the front porch, treatment of the latrines.

Consolidation of the massive supports of the chapel with treatment of the floors, roof frameworks including that of the latrines, barrier sanitation and carpentry.

3 | Restoration of the 8 chapels and their altarpieces

The restoration of the floors and paneling of the chapels and the improvement of their conservation condition.

A preliminary diagnosis has been carried out as well as emergency work but other analysis may eventually be required.
